Google Patches 19 Critical Vulnerabilities In Android !!












Google has released a new update of security fixes for its Nexus smartphone devices(Android Open Source Project[AOSP]) and tablets,that could allow hackers to compromise the Android devices via rogue emails,webpages and MMS messages.

The new update addresses the 5 security vulnerabilities rates as critical,12 rates as high and the 2 rates as moderate.The patches include vulnerabilities with Android media server,Stagefright vulnerabilities,Qualcomn performance component etc.

The place where these critical vulnerabilities are found:-

1.Android Display Driver

2.Graphic Library Media Server

3.Mobile Operating System kernel

One of the critical vulnerabilities is located in media server,a core part of the operating system and it can lead to exploit to execute arbitrary code with the privileges to the third party application that are not supposed to have.

Another critical issue is with the Denial of Service vulnerability in Bluetooth that allow hackers to block access to the affected devices.

Google also added that:-

“The affected functionality is provided as a core part of the operating system, and there are multiple applications that allow it to be reached with remote content, most notably MMS and browser playback of media, The media server service has access to audio and video streams as well as access to privileges that third-party apps could not normally access.”
